This 12-week training provides an in-depth, practical introduction to Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I-CBT is an evidence-based approach that targets the reasoning processes underlying obsessional doubt, helping clients disengage from imagined possibilities and reconnect with reality-based evidence.
Participants will learn how to conceptualize OCD as a disorder of inference rather than fear, identify the obsessional sequence, recognize inferential confusion, and work effectively with doubt, identity-based fears, and narrative distortions. The training emphasizes clinical application, including case formulation, belief-based interventions, narrative restructuring, and relapse prevention.
This intensive is designed for mental health professionals who want a deeper, model-faithful understanding of I-CBT and practical tools they can immediately use with clients across OCD presentations, including harm, contamination, sexual intrusive thoughts, scrupulosity, and relationship- and identity-based OCD.
This training is designed for clinicians who already have a basic understanding of OCD and want to deepen their work with obsessional doubt, reasoning errors, and identity-based fears.
OCD isn’t just about anxiety—it’s about doubt. This training helps clinicians move beyond fear-based models and learn how to treat the reasoning processes that fuel obsessional thinking using Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT).
This live, interactive training will meet Fridays from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM CST, starting January 16th through April 3rd, 2026 (12 weeks total).

Confidently formulate OCD cases using an I-CBT framework, including self-themes and identity-based fears
Help clients move out of imagined possibilities and back into reality-based reasoning
Use narrative restructuring and belief-based interventions to directly challenge OCD logic
Apply I-CBT strategies across OCD presentations, including harm, contamination, sexual intrusive thoughts, scrupulosity, and relationship- or identity-based OCD
